BB Guns and Safety Measures
BB
Guns are meant for sports, pleasure and fun activities. BB guns are in fact air
guns and are called air soft guns. BB guns are good imitations of real guns and
work in the same manner a real gun does and are available in look-alike models
and designs from pistols to rifles to tripod guns. They do not fire real
bullets but pallets or balls made from materials which may cause harm, even a
serious one. We can only give some safety tips.
Firstly
they must be kept unloaded at all times. Always unload it before you putting in
a safe place. It is also better that the receptacle where you put it is
properly locked and the keys safely tucked away from reach of young children.
BB
guns must be taken out only when you use them for sports activities like having
a practice session. There it must never be given over to children of less than
18 years age. While teaching an older child the use of a BB gun first train him
on following the safety measures required for a real gun.
When
you start using the gun and pointing it to a target or you are teaching someone
to shoot a target be sure that the area behind and across the target is clear
of any person or thing to which a stray ball or pallet may hit and cause
injury.
A
BB gun pallet or ball may rebound from the target or any hard object near to
the practicing area so you must check that the target can to absorb the hit,
the shooter must aim straight and must not let his attention waver from target.
The
gun must be emptied and cleaned immediately after usage and kept in safe place.
In that way your gun will always be in working condition.
Remember
you must never point out the gun towards any person at anytime. Always assume
it to be loaded even if its chamber is empty. And advise your disciple to make
sure he/she understands this rule.
The
above are just a few basic rules for using BB guns. When you use them carefully
then you will know more of them particularly if your coach is a good one.
